15th Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF)
15th Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF) kicked off today at QFX Kumari Cinemas, Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu. The festival will showcase documentaries, fiction, shorts, experimental films and animation on adventure sports, mountaineering, lost cultures, migration, ancient lifestyles, burning social, environmental and conservation issues that affect highland communities worldwide. Over seventy films from 37 different countries will be screened during this time.
“As we celebrate our 15th year, we are excited by the overwhelming support and enthusiasm of the local audience which seems to get younger every year,” says Kimff Chair Basanta Thapa. “This is reflected in both youth engagement in Kimff and programming of the festival.”
Organised by Himal Association and promoted by Nepal Tourism Board, Kimff will feature 15 films in international competition and 48 films in the non-competitive section. The “Nepal Panorama” showcase will screen 15 exciting films, both documentary and narrative, by local filmmakers.
