With 54 world championship titles under its name, including ‘India’s Scooter of the Year’, Aprilia has set a thriving mark in the two-wheeler industry. Earlier, D-Lifestyles, the authorised distributor of Aprilia and Vespa, had launched Aprilia SR150 that gathered tremendous success. Now, the company has launched Aprilia SR’s latest variant SR125 in the Nepali market on March 18. The variant is being exhibited in showrooms with its title: Bolder, Lighter and Better!
Aprilia SR125 is positioned as ‘bolder’ because it comes in unconventional and audacious colour options (blue and silver); ‘lighter’ because it runs with 125cc engine, the same engine that powers Vespa SXL and VXL 125 models; and ‘better’ because it boasts better features than other scooters of the same range.
As the Italians are well known for manufacturing amazing machines with edgy looks and great features, Aprilia SR125 does justice to it and keeps the trait alive.
With its sporty looks, SR125 shares most of its component with SR150, such as five-spoke 14-inch black alloy wheels and wider sports street 120/70 tubeless tires which is bigger than any other scooter. One can have a comfortable ride on Aprilia SR125 as it has pronounced ‘beak’ on the front wheel and automatic gears. It also comes with double-barrel headlight unit that gives wider spread and visibility and passing lights.
Aprilia SR125 has maximum torque of 9.9Nm @6250PM, and coming with hydraulic double-telescopic fork front suspension and hydraulic shock absorber rear suspension, it has 160mm of ground clearance. The features like 220mm ventilated front disc brake with twin-piston calliper, 140mm rear drum brake, maximum power of 9.52 Hp@7250 RPM have been a win-some mark for this two-wheeler.
Its 125cc engine is a cross-over, designed with the comfort similar to scooters with motorbike-like performance similar to SR150. It gives a mileage of 40-45km per litre which is comparatively higher than other scooters.
Aprilia SR125 is equipped with a longer seat and raised handlebars that reduce vibration. Similarly, it has raised grab rail at the back for better safety and comfort. Catchy features include fuel tank capacity of 6.5 litres, ample storage under the seat, USB connector to charge phone, conveniently located bag hooks to keep rider’s belongings safe in the front, among others.
With the availability of the continuous variable transmission for a super smooth drive and a twin pod analogue unit for Speedometer, Fuel Gauge and Odometer, the rigid steel frame Aprilia SR125 makes riding bumpy roads of Nepal easier.
The Aprilia SR125 is available in all Vespa showrooms starting at a price of Rs. 235,900.
