SPARSHA (Society for Positive Atmosphere and related Support to People Living with HIV in Nepal), in collaboration with NASL (Nepalese Association for the studies of the Liver), organized a rally on July 28 to commemorate Work Hepatitis Day and to educate, screen, and raise viral hepatitis awareness in the society.
Carrying the slogan, ‘Finding the mission millions’, the event was aimed at indicating that the concerned authorities and associated actors are finding people who are unaware of their condition with hepatitis.
During the formal sessions at Russian Culture Centre, Kamalpokhari, doctors highlighted the presence of a permanent cure for Hepatitis C and requested patients not to hide this disease, rather come forward for their timely treatment.
A toll-free number (16600146666) was also launched which will be providing information about this disease, its consequences, and cure.
Hepatitis is a viral disease refers to inflammation of the liver. Nepal has vowed to eliminate hepatitis by 2030.
