Ford Nepal in collaboration with Higher Ground Nepal & Pangro organized the event, the run aimed to bring together the community to celebrate International Women’s Day in hopes of inspiring and empowering women and girls. Although, the race was only limited to only women and girls, they made it inclusive for the men and boys as well who came to cheer and volunteer on the day of the run.
Miss Nepal 2010, a goodwill ambassador for the event Ms. Saddicha Shrestha ran along with the participants as well as addressed the participants on women empowerment which boosted their energy before the run. De Andrea Arment from U.S Embassy shared her view on air pollution and informed the runners about the “Safa Hawa” app. Many celebrities and renowned social personalities from different walks of life also joined the run. An energetic and exciting session of Zumba was led by professional Zumba trainer from Nitya Fitness and dance Studio, Rainbow Zumba after the run.
Mediciti Hospital was the medical partner of the event, the ambulance was be on standby throughout the event with a paramedic and a team of doctors who also provided free health check up for the women at the event. Red Cross-circle Sainbu provided first aid support throughout the 5k route for immediate response.
