In an effort to capacitate young girls in Nepal, Ujyalo Foundation, a U.S and Nepal based non-profit 25 organisation, launched EmpowHER Junior Program themed as ‘Girls with Grit’, at Alpas Cafe, Lazimpat, on November 8.
Out of 20 applicants, the program has selected 12 young girls who will now go through 12 weeks of rigorous entrepreneurship and leadership training and activities, and learn from leaders, such as Founder and Executive Director of Ujyalo Foundation Amuda Mishra, CEO of Karkhana Pavitra Gautam, CEO of Uttkarsha Nepal Punjita Pradhan, and others. Besdies, the young girls will be mentored by six personal mentors who have already been through the journey in EmpowHER.
At the end of the program, the participating girls have to pitch their ideas to the judges, while the winner will get seed money to further develop and implement her idea.
The foundation aims to create sustainable development through innovate technologies in Nepal.
