Graduating students exhibited innovative designs


As many as 84 graduating students of Namuna College of Fashion Technology exhibited 21 creatively-designed dresses possessing futuristic elements—hypothetical, imaginary and innovative—inspired from science and technology, universal law of destruction, transhumanism, music, mutation and others during the graduation show of the 14th batch of the college that was held on October 7 at Hotel Soaltee Crown Plaza, Kathmandu.

The show, titled as ‘Abhutpurva Parikalpana’, featured various sequences which exhibited designs inspired from varied components. For an instance, the sequence titled as, ‘Cultural Diversity’, exhibited creative wears designed taking the inspiration from cultural dresses belonging to various ethnic casts of Nepal such as Limbu, Tamang, Sherpa, Thakali, Newar, Sunuwar, Tharu, Dhimal, and Rajbanshi.

Another sequence, titled ‘Naturally Rich’, presented garments made from natural fibers such as jute, hemp, bamboo, and others. Similarly, the sequence titled, as ‘Dramatic Glam’, exhibited dramatic gowns with different kinds of dramatic silhouettes played on the fabrics like satin, net, chiffon, printed fabrics, etc.

The graduation show was choreographed and directed by Rojin Shakya.
